Insights of the Founder of Rakan
Obtaining an honours degree in Zoology and a minor in Genetics from University of Malaya, Mr. K.S Vijay has the privilege of being the founder and Managing Director of Pusat Tuisyen Rakan. Being a powerful and dynamic speaker, he is often invited to give motivational talks and academic workshops to schools around the Klang Valley.
Since 1992, he has conducted over thousands of such talks throughout Malaysia. He has also been featured in several local newspapers including The New Straits Times, The Star, The Sun, Malay Mail, Tamil Nanban and many other local dailies.
A life interview was done over Time Highway Radio Station (both THR Raaga & THR Gegar), and over Mix FM, where he talked on Exam Tips and method of spotting questions. He has appeared live on Selamat Pagi Malaysia over RTM.
TNB (Tenaga Nasional Berhad), a leading Government Linked Company in Malaysia, had sought Mr. Vijay’s expertise to conduct UPSR, PMR and SPM Seminars for the children of their employees.
Undoubtfully, he is a very experienced speaker for Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Add Maths & Science. His ability in making these subjects simple to understand and easy to master mesmerizes many.

All my life’s achievement is attributed to my maker thus, all praise absolutely goes to him.
I embarked in the line of teaching since Form 5, when my neighbours sent their children to study under me. Little by little, I started to grow great passion towards this field hence, promoted myself to teach in tuition centers when I was doing my STPM.
I love being with students, guiding and helping them understand and make easy the subjects they learn. Seeing them excel in their exams gave me a great deal of inner satisfaction.

You got to be on your toes always as students tend to test and challenge your capabilities. Gaining their confidence and winning their trust meant a great deal to me. I realised my potentials and decided to start a tuition center of my own.
In 1997, with the help of the sunshine of my life ie, my ever supportive wife, Rani , we gave life to Rakan. Together we grew Rakan tuition to what it is now.
After seeing the vast improvement within their children , many parents started recommending Rakan to their friends and relatives. Our winning point was that we were able to show improvement in children who seeked our guidance. This was possible as we had the fullest cooperation from parents who ensured their children attended extra classes regularly and gave us constant feedback on the improvement within them (their children).

Students from as far as Johor Bahru and Penang started to travel during the weekends to attend our courses at Petaling Jaya. That showed the level of trust and confidence parents placed on us to realize their children’s academic aspirations.
We pushed very hard, to better ourselves in every sense possible, so that we could deliver to their expectations. We were committed to bring out the best from each and every individual who walked through our doorsteps.
